A calmer Omegle alternative
Omegle closed on 8 November 2023, after fourteen years of pairing strangers at random. If you miss meeting someone new with one press, ChatDrift.Fun is that idea, rebuilt around privacy and safety.

What stays the same
- Free, with no sign-up. No account, no email, no app to install. It runs in your browser, on a phone or a computer.
- One person at a time, at random. You meet someone you would never have met otherwise, face to face.
- Leave whenever you like. Press Next and someone new appears. Press Stop to take a break.
- Text beside the video. A chat box sits next to the call, for links, spelling a name, or when the sound drops.
What’s different
The other person never gets your IP address
Omegle’s video connected the two browsers directly, which is how tools that read a partner’s IP address, and so their rough location, spread. On ChatDrift.Fun every call goes through a relay in the middle, so the person you meet never receives your address. The video is encrypted from one browser to the other. How that works, and what it can’t hide.
Cameras on, for both people
There’s no text-only mode, no mute and no camera-off. Everyone is seen and heard for the whole chat, so nobody can watch others without being seen.
Adults only, and people moderating
ChatDrift.Fun is 18+. Moderators can look in on any chat, block a connection at once, and every look they take is logged. The community moderates too: people rate each other in Angel vs. Devil, and enough Devil picks from different people pause someone for an hour.
Report works after the chat ends
Someone shows something and skips? Report still reaches them for a minute after the chat ends. Reports from several different people block a connection automatically, and you won’t be paired with someone you reported again right away.
No cookies, no trackers, no ads
The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies: there is nothing following you around the web afterwards.
A calmer screen
Quiet colors, plain words and nothing flashing. It was designed with ADHD and autistic visitors in mind, which makes it easier on everyone.

Other Omegle alternatives, honestly
ChatDrift.Fun isn’t the only option, and it isn’t for everyone. What the best-known alternatives say about themselves on their own sites, in September 2026:
- Chatroulette, the original random video chat, from 2009.
- OmeTV, a large random video chat with apps for phones.
- Emerald Chat asks you to create an account first.
- Monkey asks you to sign in with a social account.
- CooMeet charges by the minute or by subscription.
Whichever you choose, check three things first: whether the other person can see your IP address, whether people can watch with their camera off, and whether you can still report someone who skipped away. The safety page explains why each matters.
Who ChatDrift.Fun is for, and who it isn’t
It’s for adults who want a real conversation with someone new, face to face, without handing over an email address or their location.
It isn’t for anyone under 18, anyone who wants to chat with their camera off or pick people by gender, or anything sexual: that breaks the rules, and it gets connections blocked.
Looking for a Chatroulette alternative?
It’s the same idea: press a button, meet someone at random, press again for someone new. ChatDrift.Fun keeps that, and adds a hidden IP address, cameras on for both, and Report that still works after a skip.

Questions people ask
Is ChatDrift.Fun the new Omegle?
No. It isn’t connected to Omegle or its founder. It’s an independent site built on the same idea: meeting someone new at random.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
It’s free, with no account, no email and nothing to install.
Is there a text-only chat, like Omegle had?
No. Every chat is video, with a text box beside it. Both people keep their camera and microphone on, which is what keeps people from watching unseen.
Can I choose who I meet?
No. There are no filters by gender, country or interest, so everyone gets the same chance, and nobody is ever a filter setting.
Can the other person see my IP address?
No. Calls go through a relay, so the person you meet never receives your IP address. They see and hear what your camera and microphone pick up, and what you type.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in the browser on iPhone, Android and computers. Allow the camera and microphone when your browser asks.
